I’m using ScribeFire. If you do any blogging at all - or even if you just want to “grab” content from web pages - you should use it, too.
It’s a “plug-in” for FireFox. Maybe it (or something like it) is available for IE or Safari… or other browsers. I don’t know, and I personally don’t care. I have not liked IE at all - I started browsing with Netscape those many years ago, and Windoz’s first IE was a joke compared with Netscape. It’s probably better now, but my experiences with it indicate that it is nowhere near the tool that FireFox is - and I think other browsers such as Opera and Netscape - while not as powerful or useful as FireFox - are still better than IE. And I don’t have a Mac, so I only see Safari occasionally, and use it even less often, so I really don’t have an opinion about it.
Back to ScribeFire. As I indicated, it is a FireFox plug-in. If you don’t use FireFox, I urge you to start using it now. Go here and download it, install it, and come back to this page, and continue.
To install the plugin into your FireFox browser, click on Tools / Add-ons / Get extensions and search “ScribeFire”. Then click on “Add to FireFox”. I don’t recall, but you will probably have to restart FireFox. Once ScribeFire is installed, you will see an icon on the bottom line of your FF (I’m going to abbreviate it) that looks a bit like a tablet with a pencil. Click on that, and ScribeFire will take over half your screen. You have an edit box to type in, with a toolbar that looks like a word processor plus web page icons (add a link, add an image, etc). It lets you cut-and-paste content from the web page at the top half of the screen, and save it as notes or post it to your blog (it supports most popular blog software). Actually, it’s easier than that - you can also pop up ScribeFire by highlighting material you want to quote (including images) and right-clicking the page, and clicking on ScribeFire / blog this page - that will pop up ScribeFire at the bottom, with a link to the page and the highlighted material copied into your ScribeFire text box.
I like it. A lot. I think you will, too. Do it.

It's Leo. Go back to the top and read the page titled "WhoDat?"... Maybe I can do an excerpt here someday. Maybe soon. Probably some time after I find out how to excerpt anything... I'm pretty sure it isn't too hard.
What is needed here is something like the stuff right above it which checks for existence of something
and if it exists shows it, otherwise puts in general blather.
I just installed it. I’m having trouble with posting pictures though. I did the 1st 3 I wanted and then everything else just shows up with the text and not a picture.
