The Real Secret is open - it’s not closed, and it’s not hidden. It isn’t made a big deal of, because - I think - so many of those, most of them, who discover the secret, fall into one of two camps: either they are completely happy with their discovery and simply go their own way, or they want to use the secret to gain - to gain whatever: power, prestige, and so on. Then, too, I think that of the former group, most of them are aware that people do not value what is given to them, and so they leave the secret for those people to find for themselves. And, in fact, it is difficult to put the secret into words, because it is about the reality of Universe, and words can only describe that, they cannot be that reality. This is the genesis and the meaning of such things as Zen koans.

Because my nature is to be a Teacher, I will try to put the Secret into words. These will probably wind up being as obscure, confusing and nonsensical as koans, but I will try anyway.

So, let’s start (this may go on and on, and probably won’t be completed in this entry… perhaps not in several entries… perhaps not at all).

The Real Secret is this: Magick is The Experience of Truth. You can use Magick to create the World around You. The only Laws of Magick are ones that You Make.

I’m not going to explain the difference between “magic” and Magick here - hopefully, I’ll figure out how to create a hyperlink to it and you’ll be able to click on it

- dammit, I despise that “click on it” terminology - it’s stupid and worthless - we need a new term, and I think I’ve got one, which I’ll try to use from now on: touch it -

you’ll be able to touch it and be linked to that explanation. If it’s not touchable right now, as you read this, than you’ll have to go look it up and you should be able to figure it out for yourself… it is, I think, the actual purpose of real education to teach you how to teach yourself, how to figure things out for yourself, and not the programming into you a nearly endless set of “facts” that are not only changeable, but changing - which is what the alleged “Educational System” in our society does today.

Although it is probably only an exercise in mental masturbation to attempt even to explain the Secret further, I’ll try anyway. For some of us, the “what” is not enough, we must know “why” as well, and perhaps “how” on top of that. “When” and “where” are up to you to decide for yourself. The “why” as far as I am concerned, is that what we perceive as being reality is - of course - only a perception. Yes, I know that’s somewhat (if not completely) circular… but it’s true anyway. What is “real” is what’s going on, but we do not know what that is, we only think we know, and what we think is based on our perceptions. Think of it this way: suppose you look in a mirror and see someone standing behind you. What you see is not the person, but a reflection from the mirror. It’s only an image, not the real person, right? But - and here’s the problem with the perceptions of all of our senses - even when you look at the “real” person, what’s inside your head is an image that was reflected onto your eyeball, transformed into a series of electrical or chemical messages (our “scientists” still aren’t sure which, although both groups have plausible arguments for their viewpoints) and these messages are transmitted to your brain (again, we’re not sure how) and then assembled into the picture you “see” and which you - up until now, anyway - assume is real. But it’s not real, it’s only an image, one that has been filtered through your sensory system and may have been mangled in some way. But it’s worse than that. For another thing, what you see and what I see - even if we’re standing side by side, are not quite the same thing because we see whatever it is from slightly different angles… and the farther distant we are from one another, in space and time, the more differences there are in what we see, hear, smell, taste, touch. But it’s even worse than that, because the message - the sight we see - is also filtered through mental sieves as well: you have almost certainly had an experience when you saw something and were scared shitless because you thought it was a dangerous animal or a person with a gun or some other horrifying thing… and a few seconds later you “realized” that it was only a bush or a rock or a person with a bible in his hand…

There’s another level, as well, and that is the “fact” that what we see, touch, taste, smell, and feel - the things of everyday material reality - are - or seem to be, as our “scientists” have now discovered, quite simply not real at all.

Look around you… look at your hand - that’s an easy thing to do, and plenty of comedians have made pepole laugh by pretending to be “drugged” in some way and look at their hands and say something like “Oh, wow, man! Here’s the whole Universe… dude!”

Well, that may seem laughable - but it happens to be true!

Here’s why: Everything you see (touch, et cetera) is made up of atoms, right? I mean, first, chunks of stuff, and when we look closer we find molecules, and when look closer, we find atoms (hopefully the word “atom” is going to be touchable soon - I have a rant about “atom” that you need to see). Then when we closer at the atoms, we find smaller stuff: electrons, neutrons, protons… at this point, we’ve already crossed the boundary where we can “see”, because sight uses photons and they’re too big to show any details… but we find that this stuff - electrons and whatnot - are made of still smaller things, which we now call “quarks” (a made-up nonsense word, and that very fact says a lot about what’s going on here). My personal opinion is that - if we can find anything out at all about them - we’ll find out that these can be decomposed into yet smaller things. But we’ve already reached the point at which we’ve found that these things, these “quarks”, are in fact not “real” in the same sense (notice that word, sense) that out hands are real… no, “quarks” of various sorts, and hece the electrons, photons, protons, and neutrons they make, have this Magickal aspect of being able to suddenly and for all practical purposes, inexplicably, change into something else and even disappear into apparent Nothingness (and of course, they can also appear from that Nothingness).

So, from the most basic level (at least, the most basic level we “know” about, so far) Universe is capable of changing instantaneously, all by itself.

And ultimately, what this means is that you can make it whatever you wish it to be - wait, wrong word, “wish” - you have to work a little harder than that - it can be whatever you imagine it to be.
