Jupiter got smacked… again. We didn’t see it coming this time, as we (well, a couple of us, anyway: Shoemaker and Levy) did in 1994. That one was spectacular, as a chain of glowing bodies rat-a-tat-tatted against Jupiter over quite a bit of time. This one was unseen: the impactor (whatever it was) wasn’t glowing with the bright electric discharge of the fragments of Shoemaker/Levy… at this writing, no one has come forward with images of whatever-it-was on it’s way to the surface of Jupiter. The pontificators (”those who build the bridge” and presumably guard it as well) said back then that it was a once-in-500-years event, quickly revising that larger to several thousands of years… and here we are just fifteen years later… are they gulping, yet?
And the story on Venus?
“It’s fair to say something unusual happened on Venus. Unfortunately, we don’t know what happened,” Limaye told New Scientist.

It's Leo. Go back to the top and read the page titled "WhoDat?"... Maybe I can do an excerpt here someday. Maybe soon. Probably some time after I find out how to excerpt anything... I'm pretty sure it isn't too hard.
What is needed here is something like the stuff right above it which checks for existence of something
and if it exists shows it, otherwise puts in general blather.
